Pairs automated catalog design software with comprehensive food service and sanitary supplies content database for fast, affordable custom catalogs
(Bloomington, Minn., September 21, 2005) - Computer Pundits Corporation, developer of Catalog Builder software, announced today that it has partnered with SpecPage, a massive online database of product information from hundreds of food service and sanitary supply vendors, to provide independent distributors a convenient and affordable means of producing customized catalogs.
SpecPage originated their data collection process with Perkins, Inc., Taunton, Massachusetts, one of New England's largest wholesale food service and sanitary supplies distributors. Their portfolio includes nearly 13,000 products from over 800 vendors. These vendors pay a small subscription fee for SpecPage to host and maintain their product information in Specpage's online content database. The fee allows them password protected access to their item SpecPages to add, edit, and enhance their product information including but not limited to Images, directions, weights, pack sizes, and special uses. Distributors, on the other hand, pay nothing to access and use these SpecPages commonly known as " Push button product information ".
Distributors can either link to SpecPage content or they can pull SpecPage content directly into Catalog Builder and develop catalogs with their own unique look and feel, customized to the specific product lines they carry.
Catalog BuilderŪ is the in-house catalog design and management system for distributors of all sizes. It automates the process of generating print, CD-ROM, e-mail, web-based, and even targeted (or region-specific) mini-catalogs, eliminating the need for manual graphic design and saving businesses time and money over traditional catalog production. With Catalog Builder, distributors can update pricing and other product information in their catalogs on demand.
